Product Feed CheckGuide

Why Google Merchant Center rejects WooCommerce products, and how to find them

Feed plugins send whatever your products contain. When a product has no image, no price, no description, no brand or no GTIN, Merchant Center and Meta disapprove or limit it, and you find out days later in a diagnostics screen. Checking the products themselves finds the problems before the feed does.

What gets products rejected or limited

Where WooCommerce keeps these fields

Since WooCommerce 9.2 there's a built-in GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN field on each product, and recent versions include a built-in Brands taxonomy. Older stores often use a GTIN or brand plugin, or the feed plugin's own fields. Whatever you use, check that your feed plugin reads the same field.

Check the structured data too

Google also reads the Product structured data on each product page. If it has no brand or GTIN, Google can't match the page to your feed item as well; your SEO or feed plugin usually controls that output.

After a feed plugin update

Feed and catalog plugins update often, and support forums show updates that stop syncs or break the admin. After each update, re-check a few products in your feed preview and Merchant Center diagnostics.
